In September, a time when students return to classrooms with hope, the INTCO Public Welfare Foundation travelled across mountains and rivers to Nanjian Yi Autonomous County in Dali, Yunnan, delivering a "back-to-school gift" filled with warmth and support to underprivileged students, reaffirming the brand’s dedication to educational philanthropy.

Tailored Aid for Yunnan Students: Scholarships and School Supplies

Focused on addressing the specific educational needs of Nanjian Yi Autonomous County, the INTCO Public Welfare Foundation designed a targeted support program for students from low-income families. The initiative included two key components: a one-time scholarship totalling ¥50,000 (approximately $6,850) to cover tuition and living expenses, and a full set of back-to-school supplies—from backpacks and stationery to books. Every beneficiary student received brand-new learning tools, allowing them to start the new semester with confidence and enthusiasm.

This targeted approach aligns with the UNESCO’s Education for All Initiative, which emphasises "equitable access to quality education" for marginalised groups. In rural areas like Nanjian, where educational resources are often limited, such support directly addresses barriers like financial strain and lack of basic supplies—factors that the World Bank’s 2025 Rural Education Report identifies as key obstacles to student retention.
