2021 The full chronicle of Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congress
TIME: 2021-08-28 FROM: INTCO Medical

Today marks the fourth day of Li Anqi, Hou Yanyan, Chen Xueying, and Dong Rui's isolation in Dubai. They arrived in Dubai 17 days ago on a trip to the United Arab Emirates to attend the 2021 Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congress.

Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congressis an international, comprehensive, and professional medical equipment exhibition with the largest exhibition acale, the broadest range of displays and the greatest international influence in the Middle East. Intco Medical showcased the AdvanCare series of medical nitrile examination gloves, single-use medical masks, and other medical consumables, as well as the Y207D electric wheelchair, the S50 electric wheelchair, and other recreational equipment items in Dubai.

Looking back on over a month of planning, setup, and displaying, the Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congress was a significant milestone for Intco Medical and a memorable experience for Li Anqi, Hou Yanyan, Chen Xueying, and Dong Rui.

Departure - The Winding Road

The global pandemic is unpredictable, and the pressures and challenges are associated with showing overseas. Four young females (Li Anqi, Chen Xueying, Hou Yanyan, and Dong Rui) from the international marketing departments of the Medical Consumables Division and Wellness Equipment Division, with an average age of 25 years old, formed the working team for the exhibition.

Prior to departure, they created a mind map, developed a clear concept, and conducted extensive planning and preplanning for the time schedule, cost estimation, exhibition background, and immunization measures. Additionally, in accordance with domestic and international epidemic prevention policies, each of them received the COVID-19 vaccination in advance, underwent two nucleic acid tests, and prepared English test reports, all of which were prepared in advance to withstand various inspections at home and abroad along the way Faced with the potential of epidemics on a global scale, the displaying team was adequately equipped with epidemic prevention supplies such as masks, gloves, face masks, isolation suits, hands-free hand sanitizer, and disinfection wipes. In addition to the samples sent in advance, they brought three bags loaded with spare samples from Shandong to Dubai personally. All arrangements have been made to guarantee a seamless landing in Dubai.

The complicated epidemic situation both domestically and internationally made the voyage extraordinary. A succession of domestic flight cancellations, sleeping rough at the airport till the early hours of the morning, unexpected extra nucleic acid testing, and stringent border control questioning were all part of the ups and downs along the route. However, when the team prepared to depart the nation and noticed the Intco hand-free gel sanitiser being used at the counter at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, the familiar scent and touch transformed all the hard work into the motivation to continue working passionately.

Challenges - Forging Ahead Bravely

The exhibition squad landed in Dubai at 1:00 am on 20th June, when the true challenge began.

Dubai lies in the tropics, and June is the hottest month, with temperatures outside reaching 44 degrees Celsius. From the hotel to the exhibition space, the mounds of displays and promotional materials had to be hauled physically. This was undoubtedly the first challenge the four girls faced upon their arrival in Dubai. They overcome their weariness from the long-distance travel and went back and forth between the hotel and exhibition venue to carry the material with no complaints.

On the day of set-up, when the crew got to the stand at 5 p.m. Dubai time after completing the material handling, barely 10% of the set-up had been completed, but at this point, it was less than 17 hours before the exhibition. By coordinating their efforts with their domestic marketing counterparts, the building firm, and on-site personnel, the displaying team revised the design overnight, oversaw manufacture and assembly, and delivered the sample bags. Thankfully, the display stand was ready in time for the event. Throughout the four-day exhibition, the exhibiting team worked on the booth set-up far after closing time each night, striving for perfection and providing the greatest platform to display Intco's goods and give the best client experience for the following day.

The 2021 Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congress opened its doors on 21st June, welcoming over 3,500 exhibitors and 52,000 attendees from 159 countries, where manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors from around the world gathered to exchange the latest products and technologies in the global medical industry. Intco Medical's booth at H8.E10 was one of the few from China, attracting a huge number of people who came by to interact with the goods and exchange information.

A customer from Kuwait impressed Li Anqi. Last year, Intco Medical reached an order for 800 wheelchairs with this customer, and the two agreed to hold the first offline meeting at this Dubai exhibition. However, the visitor flow to the Intco booth exceeded expectations over the first two days of the show. This customer who stopped by the booth could not bear to interrupt the busy staff and instead discreetly left his business card.

We invited the client again on the third day, but were informed that the customer's schedule had changed. Li Anqi and other members of the team expressed sorrow and apologized, and the consumer was contacted again by phone. Impressed by the team's genuineness, the client altered his plans and traveled 123 kilometers from another city, Abu Dhabi, to Dubai to meet with the team at the expo to finalize the purchase and explore future collaboration opportunities. Following the meeting, the client expressed his delight at seeing the Intco Medical team in Dubai, his sense of warmth and friendliness, and his gratitude to Intco for its help.

During the four-day 2021 Arab Health&Medlab Exhibition & Congress, the Intco Medical displaying team met almost 40 regular clients from the UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as well as nearly 500 new customers. This was the first time that Intco Medical has participated in a foreign exhibition since the beginning of the coronavirus epidemic in 2020. Although the exhibition was lower in scope than it was prior to the pandemic, the flow of exhibitors was constrained, and participation was more difficult, Intco Medical's superb medical consumables and recreational equipment items, as well as the professional and passionate work of Intco Medical team distinguished Intco Medical's participation at this exhibition.

After spending 14 days in quarantine in Dubai, the team will return to work following a 14-day quarantine in Guangzhou after coming back.

Harvest - The Future Is in Sight

Li Anqi, Cynthia, Wellness Equipment Division, International Marketer

This is the first time in more than four years since I joined Intco that I have shown alone on behalf of the Wellness Equipment Division. Prior to traveling to Dubai, the pressure was intense, both in terms of the epidemic's impact and the exhibition's outcome. Finally, with the leaders' care and trust, and a silent cheer in my heart, I was resolved to start on this voyage to Dubai, and I intended to utilize this exhibition to thoroughly assess the breadth of my talents and the presence of flaws.

It was really lucky to have this excellent opportunity to speak face to face with our consumers after a year. We are adamant about actively greeting and servicing each guest, trying our utmost to leave a positive impression on all of our customers, and maximizing the benefits we receive in return.

In the future, I will approach new problems with zeal, conviction, and a strong feeling of duty.

Chen Xueying, Haley, Medical Consumables Division, International Marketing Department, Asia-Africa Group II, International Marketer

This is the first foreign exhibition since the epidemic, and I am extremely honored to be a part of it. It has enriched my work experience, allowed us to speak face to face with customers and build mutual understanding, and demonstrated to more customers that we are a very strong company with global business. Although the number of partners attending the event was modest, we all assisted one another before, during, and after the exhibition and were really excited. I aim to grasp additional such excellent possibilities, acquire further customer resources, and attempt to develop.

Hou Yanyan, Leyla, Medical Consumables Division, International Marketing Department, Asia-Africa Group II, International Marketer

I gained a great deal by attending this exhibition in another country. To begin, I gained an understanding of the entire process of exhibition overseas, which includes booth building, exhibit preparation, exhibition set-up, in-show reception, and exhibition take-down. Second, I met a number of clients whom I had previously only communicated with via email and acquired a number of new customers. Face-to-face contact consolidated our connection and provided me with a deeper grasp of clients' demands as well as a more intuitive understanding of the Asian and African markets. At the same time, I am conscious that I still have a number of weaknesses and that I must continue to develop in order to offer my clients superior service.

Dong Rui, Shirley, Medical Protection Division, International Marketing Department, Asia-Africa Group II, International Marketer

As a new graduate in 2020 who has only been with the company for a year, I believe that the chance to exhibit at the exhibition is quite rare. I met one of my customers during the exhibition who had already made an order. The customer traveled two hours from Abu Dhabi to get here, and I was able to meet him after an extended period of time online, similar to an online friend meeting abroad. Along with our existing clients, we gained new ones and developed a strong relationship and friendship with them. Consumers' return to the booth repeatedly to confirm details and orders completed in just three or four days allowed us to fully comprehend the customers' trust and firm choice for Intco. With this unforgettable experience, I'm confident that I'll serve every customer with greater passion in the future.
